Are You Also Regarded as an IA Leader in the Twin Cities?

When I left Chicago a few years back, my employer there joked that I was moving because the Twin Cities was the place the Information Architecture.

Like all good jokes, it’s funny cause it’s true. There’s a substantial community Information Architects here, lots of independents, even a couple IA ‘pure plays’ (StraightLineTheory, EatonGolden, and dare I say my own WP).

This is why I’m pleased, excited, and generally thrilled for tonight’s debut of the IA/UXP Skills Sharing Series.

I’m excited for a couple reasons:

  1. The idea, demand, and organization came from the local IA community. With much thanks to Cody Hanson, Fred Beecher and Larisa Warnke for getting it off the ground.
  2. This series will do wonders for growing the local IA community and our aggregate expertise.
  3. It has the potential to make everyone in the community a regarded leader for their distinct information architecture-related passion.

To all regarded leaders of the local IA community, I expect to see you at Carlson School of Management tonight, 7pm. Drinks afterwards.

BTW: I’ll be giving FeedSeeder demos over beers afterwards.
