Cars Should Have USB Ports Already
Every time a broadcast station interferes with my iTrip I wonder why this hasn’t happened yet: USA: Cars to get USB ports soon – CD players to become obsolete?
Jen’s reaction: “What would you plug in?…your printer? What you going to print?”
That’s probably why..nothing to print.

FM transmitters and cassette adapters are dumb dumb dumb. I don’t care if it’s USB or something more limited or proprietary. It would just be so nice if there was someway to connect a player to a vehicle.
Why not a simple “line in” on the auto stereo? Seems to be the easiest solution. It’s clear what it’s for, and you don’t have to worry about people plugging printers into the car.

A simple line in seems like the most universal option. I replaced my factory stereo with an aftermarket one just to get a line in jack. it works fantabulous. A USB port wouldn’t do me much good… and I’m a dyed in the wool geek.
