May 16, 2007 MIMA Event - What Are They Talking About?

Maybe I inhaled too many fumes renovating the bathroom, but can any one tell me what next week’s MIMA Salon is about?
I’ve read the description 8 times and, while I get who’s presenting, I’m completely missing the topic. Maybe a hint?

The 4 portfolios I saw were very good, spanning the spectrum of design experience - from just starting [...]

He put out a message to the group in the hopes that he’d find someone to take the reigns. Luckily, two people were interested in managing the [...]

EMI: No more DRM. Yay? Nay?

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the EMI decision to drop DRM from ther iTunes sold music?
From what I’m reading, here’s the opinions so far:
Yays:

“It’s about time”
More choice for the consumer
Others will follow soon
Higher bitrate = good for audiophiles

Nays:

This is just a ploy to get an extra quarter for each song sold
EMI is small fry, this is [...]
