Google Earth
Have you seen this amazing new program, Google Earth?
It uses satellite photos and the power of a Google search to take you anywhere on the globe. Just enter an address, city, zip code, favorite restaurant, etc., and this tool will zoom in from space to the exact location. It’s amazing!
I went through my address book, entering locations from Brazil to New York to Seattle to Hawaii. Some places have better resolution than others. I could barely make out the roof of my house. But at one friend’s address, I could actually see the cars in the driveway. Too bad she wasn’t sitting on the front stoop.
If you search for a big city, say New York, you can tick the “buildings†box and see a 3-D rendering of the skyscrapers. Then, push the forward arrow and you’ll feel like you’re flying over Manhattan.
It’s better than a video game! And the program is free to download.
