Graphic Designer-New Product Development

We’re seeking a graphic designer to join our corporate UX team. Work collaboratively with fellow user experience professionals to improve and advance Thomson West’s premiere legal research product: Westlaw (http://westlaw.com).

Ideal candidates will have:

• Strong GUI design and problem solving skills
• Experience applying formal design methodologies such as creating a high fidelity design from paper prototypes or wireframes
• Above-average familiarity with web standards (XHTML, CSS, WCAG) and the impact they have on design
• Fluency in Photoshop
• Experience designing highly transactional sites
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently

Required Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years experience developing commercial Web sites or intranet sites

• Creativity and enthusiasm
• Flexibility—our work environment demands the ability to do both high concept ideation and comparatively less exciting development of production graphics

Desirable:

• Proficiency with Illustrator, PaintShopPro
• Proficiency/fluency with Visio

Position is based in Eagan, MN. Some travel may be required.
