Hypothetical: Help Needed?
So, imagine you were in charge of a two day session in San Francisco. You get to help enlighten the top leaders of one of the world’s leading CPG firms about how the internet is changing the way they market. These folks are generally the smartest ones in the room wherever they go. They just havent been paying attention that much to interactive marketing, but they know its going to be critical to their futures as marketers. There’s a sense of urgency - but no desperation - to get smarter faster. They want to know how Google is going to change the face of advertising and marketing. They’re interested in Facebook, Myspace, etc. They don’t want tactics, they want strategic discussions. They’ve heard for the last three years “the consumer is charge”, and that marketing is a “dialog”, that broadcast is dying. They have a vague sense that those maxims are probably true.
What do you talk to them about for two days? Who do you point them at for ideas, for direction?
Imagine you had the resources to bring them just about anyone on the left coast, short of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Eric Schmidt. Who do you invite?
Just wondering. It’s hypothetical. But, would love to hear any ideas you all might have….
