I miss my snap, crackles and pops.

Once in a while you find that great, must-have application that is just for fun. Retroplayer is currently my favorite toy. It’s an OS X MP3 player that enhances the ordinarily pristine sounds of digital music by emulating a record player. A rather simple options menu gives you the ability to adjust the amount of skipping, surface noise, and wow and flutter during playback. While the option menus are all in Japanese, it only takes a few seconds to figure things out. You can also pick up the stylus arm and place it anywhere on the playing surface. Fun. And useless. But mainly fun.

Now, if only it would allow me to do some scratchin’…
