“if you can drink tap water and breathe the air “
At 9am this morning a small glimmer of hope appeared on the radio dial. MPR’s new 89.3 - The Current started its broadcast by playing everyone’s favorite local theme song, Atmosphere’s Shh.
Go listen. It may not be the Rev reincarnated, but, next to KFAI, it’s the closest thing to listenable FM music we seem to have.

Hope is right. I feel like I can turn the radio on - and leave it on. My wife’s thankful also - she now has a station she can have on all day at the store without getting annoyed by the repitition, commericals, or djs.
It’s beautiful. So far the playlist has been spectacular. Let’s see how long it lasts. I’d put my money on it being supremely better than KFAI. In other news, let’s hope that KBEM sticks around, too. Another great station, albeit a dreary outlook…
This *sucks*. I can’t pick up the signal in my building.
Oh well. I’ll give it a good listen tonight.
I don’t want to say it will be better/worse than KFAI. I like to keep KFAI as it’s own thing…it’s an important part of the airwaves too. Hell, anything not owned by clear that has local connections is important.
And as I mentioned over at Electric Lumpyland, anything that gets Mark Wheat off of Radio K can’t be all bad.
