MinneDemo 2 – The Write-Up
Graeme’s write-up is great, just read his.
Me…I barely made it into the presentation room. The place was packed – and I sneaked in just to catch up with Tim Elliot and see part of Mike O’Connor’s presentation. Rest of the time I spent chatting with people like Graeme, Paul Cantrell, Tom Brice (who gave me a tip on an Applescript problem I was having, thanks), and our local Rails developers (who gave me a tip on dealing w/ sessions and cookies, thanks).
I did meet the guys from Electric Pulp. They drove over from Sioux Fall, SD and we talked about our respective feed-management projects (theirs: FeedRinse, mine: Feedseeder).
Speaking of out-of-state draw, up from Milwaukee came a representative from SocialHelix, they’re aiming to do for calendaring what YouTube did for video. There’s a lot of work to be done in the calendaring space – best of luck to these guys.
Back to MN-based, was also cool to meet Andrew Comfort. He’s raising money for Q-BA-Maze, a real, non-Internet, construction, maze toy.
Overall, the best tech/startup/demo event thus far.

Q-BA-MAZE…wow! That’s nice to see non-virtual product. We need a MinneDemo for the physical products. ;o)
I planned on attending this MinneDemo, but Acadia was so packed that I could barely fit in the door. Hopefully next time the event will be in a bigger venue.
