New Logo Outside – Intel Revisits and Redesigns
Not sure if it’s a result of their new found Apple partnership or their second attempt at consumer electronics, but I just noticed Intel‘s new logo.
Unlike the icon that is Kodak’s logo, Intel’s redesign is a much-needed modernization.Notice the dropped ‘e’ of the original Intel mark is gone. But, the most recognizable element from the “Intel Inside” brand – the unfinished brush-stroke circle – has been preserved. Transformed into arguably the best looking swoosh this side of 1999.
You know of any other examples of campaign marks that have been incorporated into owner’s brand?

The one that comes to mind is Aflac.
Their new logo is based totally on the talking duck campaign. They waited for the duck to take hold, then changed their logo. But what to do once the duck is old? Rebrand everything again? I concede that their old logo needed to be redone, but not with ad campaign imagery.
On the Intel side though, their most prominent face was the “Intel Inside” mark (provided by lots of other manufacturers), not their official corporate logo. So it makes a great deal of sense.
