Marginal Revolution announced the Louve’s move to offer an official tour of the paintings featured in the DaVinci Code.
The Louve probably got the idea from New Zealand’s country-wide Lord of the Ring tours. Seems to me, offering structured, real-life tours based on popular fiction is an amazingly fun, easy, and profitable idea - that more non-profit or state-operated organizations should explore.
While I was in Chicago, I thought it’d be great fun to go on a Ferris Bueller tour.
Here in the upper Midwest, I see a Fargo tour being popular.

I like this too, though I now fear a wave of ‘MPAA Welfare’ tax-credits coming through the pipe as regions compete to have movies filmed in their location to they can promote it later. But maybe that’s not a bad thing…
