I’m following Graeme Thickin’s semi-live blogging of DEMOfall, and his description of PrefPass reminded me of the Identity XML notion I wrote about 6 months ago.

I completely agree the number of registrations and passwords identifying me is a security risk. An identity silo is also a security risk (think “robbing banks cause that’s where the money is”).

Though, from the PrefPass page, I can’t actually verify Graeme’s description. Huh.

Something like this could be added on as a sweetener to an affiliate program. The program sponsor could say–we’ll give you 5% of referred sales, 7% if the customer gives us their ‘demographics pack’.
