Description
The Senior User Interface Designer is an innovative and seasoned design
leader who is responsible for the design and development of the
detailed User Interfaces (UI) and the functional and behavioral aspects of web
based software products. Requires extensive experience in user-centered
design processes for major products or services. Requires a broad
understanding of consumer, business and employee oriented systems and
the methods for their creation, including participatory design, rapid
prototyping and graphical development. Works closely with multiple
teams and is responsible for researching, designing, prototyping and
developing a variety of products including B2C), Knowledge Network
Intranet (B2E), and other business to business Portal applications
(B2B).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI),
Interaction Design, Cognitive Psychology, Usability, or related field
preferred; BS or above in Computer Science or related field a plus. 5+
years relevant experience in developing commercial UI products for the
web. Certification in User Centered Design, Web and Application Design,
and Usability Testing preferred. Strong technical background.
Demonstrated success designing cross-browser, cross-platform, dynamic
web applications using standard design tools and technologies with
strong expertise in the following technologies: Expert DreamWeaver and
Photoshop, CVS/Subversion. Expert HTML skills, CSS, JavaScript skills.
DHTML, XML/XSL, and Visio skills. Experience with .Net technology such
as ASP.Net helpful. Strong understanding of User interface design
practices and human-computer interaction (HCI) principles. Familiarity
with human factors, user-centered design, usability and information
architecture. Ability to thrive with limited supervision in a
fast-paced, collaborative environment. Significant experience with
leading or managing the design for one or more complex web-based
systems is strongly desired, as is the ability to effectively negotiate
interactions between designers, developers, clients, and stakeholders.
Demonstrate strength in verbal and written communication. Ability to
influence a team of technical professionals. Collaborative style with
the ability to work with staff at all levels of a complex organization.
