Where’s Minnesota 2.0 and Do We Want It?
If you’ve listened to my podcast with Robert Metcalf, you heard that I’d like some TechCrunch-esque profiles of MN-based startups. And, I thought I’d put them here at MNteractive.
As part of that effort, I’ve had a number of conversations with business owners and others interested in making MN-tech entrepreneurs more visible. According to Paul Graham’s How to Be Silicon Valley list via the Accordion Guy, MN has nearly all the attributes - though a few of them need amplified (which is what we’re doing here).
This bit by Dave Winer reminds me of the ultimate purpose of this effort (Replace ‘Toronto’ with ‘Minneapolis/St.Paul/Your Favorite MN City’)
With that, here’s my current list of local tech/software/internet startups:
- FlySpy (my interview with them)
- Imp (my interview with them)
- FeedMarker
- Swarmcast
- Zanby was Gatheroo (my interview with them)
- JAMF Software
- MindTouch
- PogoPad
- Yugma was LetsPowWow
- Yfly.com - MySpace with actual, real celebrities - Space150, RubyonRails, etc.
Who’d I miss?
