Wow! A usable cell phone!?
I hate cellphones. Which is a little embarrassing, as I am truly a geek. I love gadgets. But after each cell phone upgrade, I become more and more enraged every time I try to make a phone call. I don’t need a dozen menus, buttons that require a toothpick to press, or Tiger Woods playing golf. I just want to make a damn phone call.
Well, 3G apparently has realized that there is a need for a phone that (surprise, surprise) makes it easy to make a phone call.

Unfortunately, it’s really ugly. But, maybe a step in the right direction–at least for us cell phone luddites.

agree.
how about a cell phone that actually works - can actually get service. that’s great that the providers are allowing us to now have access to 100 songs on the phone… how about the basic premise of being able to make a call. Verizon recently down graded all of their local towers (went back to another older techonology system) - and therefore making it almost impossible to get the full 5 bars of reception.
grrr.
After fighting with too many Nokias and SonyEricssons. I made the commitment for Palm’s Treo 650. It is the best mobile phone around. Hands down.
Where can I get one of these, o’ Darrel.
I agree… well- not with that phone because it’s ugly. I understand that convergence probably will happen and will just as cool as the flying car I’ve been promised. I also understand we need to baby-step our way to convergence. What I don’t understand is- why do we need to sacrifice the primary function? to make way for crappy baby-stepped half-assed approaches to convergence. Throw a PIM on my phone. But don’t add six more menu’s in way as a result to get to my phone’s missed calls.
