Yay. Another interactive annual. Another dissapointment.
It’s been several years since I’ve religously read my design rags. A few months ago, I got an offer in the mail to subscribe to both Print and HOW for something like $25. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one that hasn’t been buying them lately.
Well, the offer was too good to pass up, and with the new bathroom remodelled, I really needed some nicer toilet reading materials anyways.
This week, the Print Interactive annual arrived in the mail. As usual, most of it was fairly unmemorable Flash sites. I’ve gotten used to this, and, to be fair, I can appreciate why (the truly useful sites on the internet tend not to be made by those who need to enter design competitions). And some of the sites that are showcased really are quite interesting.
So, I decided to go visit a few of them. Again, as usual, splash page…pop-up window…flash loader…wait…wait…waiting…animate in the navigation bar, swipe in the title. Pretty. OK, on to the next site…
But then I went to this site:
http://corzo.com/
I’m sorry, but if a site is going to open a pop-up, take away my toolbar, and then maximize it across my dual monitor display, that should be an automatic disqualification.
Well, looks like I’ve finished. Time to flush and wash my hands…
