Jarrid - May the Force Be With You
Kristina called me this morning with some bad news. Over the holiday weekend, Jarrid Grams, from Whoop Design, was killed in a car accident.
I worked with Jarrid when we were both on the MIMA board. He was always full of energy and ideas. If you listened to the podcast of the MIMA Web 2.0 salon, you heard his excitement to see the opening of Star Wars III and his ever enthusiastic optimism on the future of the internet. These were the last words I shared with him.
The loss of Jarrid is a heavy blow for the local interactive community, his family and friends.

OMG. Jarrid is one of the first people I met at MIMA. This is so sad.
I only attended a handful of MiMA events while living in MPLS, but Jarrid is one person who really made an impression on me. He really made me feel welcome in what was initially an unfamiliar group of folks. Condolences to his close friends and family.
I have had a heavy heart all day. Jarrid was a MIMA board member for 5 years - during most of his 20s. He was so young. Whoop was just moving into their new offices Uptown today and tomorrow … a big step for a small agency, considering they “met around a dining room table” for 2 years. My condolences to friends and family.
I had a number of brief conversations with Jarrid over the last couple years. He was always ready with bright question or a relevant insight. A great guy. My condolences to his family, friends, co-workers.
Jarrid was one of the nicest, kindest, most gentle people I’ve ever met. He went out of his way to include people and was such a good listener. His absence from this world is a true loss. My condolences to his family, friends, and Whoop partners.
Kind. Enthusiastic. Lively. Welcoming.
These are the words that come to my mind when I think of Jarrid, whom I had the chance to meet through MiMA. This is a tragic loss. He was just too young. I grieve for his family and friends.
Jarrid’s smiling face and laugh were a constant during several discussions at MiMA and Ad Fed events, including a couple in the past two weeks where he was shared excitement about Whoop’s move and grand ambitions. He was always positive, energetic, and welcoming. We will all miss his infuence and warmth.
